Last week, the NFL saved me as I went 3-1 to bring last week's total to 5-4 and my grand total to 16-12.

This week I am ready to hit my stride and I look to start a hot streak and win big. Football betting should always be fun but it can be complicated. If it were easy, picking winners wouldn't feel so good.

For my NFL picks this weekend, I am going against my own advice by picking all favorites. So far this season, underdogs have covered more than 60% of the time. However, it is comforting that all of my NFL picks are the home team.

Two of my picks are based on quality teams coming off of a bye (Jets, Colts) while a couple others are more like picks of teams most others may not be buying into despite their covering history (Rams, Chiefs).

Four out of my 6 college football picks AGAINST THE SPREAD involve the underdog, only predicting Notre Dame and Michigan to cover as favorites (Michigan -3 is my 2nd ever lock bet of the week.). And, for the first time, I've selected an over/under bet which is actually first up on my docket.

I've yet to have a losing weekend but let's see if I can have a real "Feel Good" weekend. My games start tonight. Enjoy!

 

Pick # 1------> OVER 59 Florida State @ NC State.

FSU is favored by 3.5 points and instead of potentially being on the wrong side of that half-point, I'm choosing to be on the right side of the total. "Go Points!"

Pick # 2------> Connecticut +6.5 vs West Virginia. Friday October 29, 2010 8:00 pm

WVU has talent- unfortunately, this talent is under-coached and the team never seems to play to their potential. They always seem to let their opponents hang around- sometimes until it's too late.

Pick # 3------> Louisville +9 @ Pittsburgh. Saturday October 30 2010 12:00 pm

Pittsburgh is NOT that good and in a Big East battle, I'll gladly take the points.

Pick # 4------> Tennessee +17.5 @ South Carolina. Saturday October 30 2010 12:20 pm

I know Tennessee is having a a "down" year but this number just looks a little inflated. SC has looked great at times this season but they are still inconsistent.

Pick # 5------> Notre Dame -8 vs Tulsa. Saturday October 30 2010 2:20 pm

Notre Dame isn't really a great team you want to always bet on this year but I think they will play inspired ball this weekend and blow out a team that they should.

Pick # 6------> Mississippi +7 vs Auburn. Saturday October 30 2010 6:00 pm

Call it "cracking under the pressure," call it the "ranked 1st curse." Whatever you call it, you have to acknowledge it. It's tough to bet against Cam Newton but remember this: Auburn has only had 2 away games so far this year (This will be their third.). Each of their first 2 away games they won by only 3 points and did not cover in either of them.

Pick # 7------> Michigan -3 @ Penn State. (2nd ever lock bet of the week) Saturday October 30 2010 8:00 pm

Michigan has lost 2 weeks in a row against 2 quality opponents. Penn state has been killed this year by quality opponents and they play down to lesser ones. Michigan wins big.

Pick # 8------> Oregon -6.5 @ USC. Saturday October 30 2010 8:00 pm

The Ducks look indestructible. USC doesn't.

Pick # 9------> NJ Jets -6 vs Green Bay Packers. Sunday October 31 2010 1:00 pm

The Jets are well-coached team coming off of a bye-week. Aaron Rogers has not looked great lately.

Pick # 10------> KC Chiefs -7.5 vs Buffalo Bills. Sunday October 31 2010 1:00 pm

KC is 5-1 ATS, 3-0 ATS and SU at home. Their closest home game was a week-1 seven point win over the Chargers. They've blown out bad teams at their place (SF by 21, JAX by 22). Might be another one here.

Pick # 11------> St. Louis Rams -3 vs Carolina. Sunday October 31, 2010 1:00 pm

The Rams are actually pretty good, especially at home. The Panthers might truly be bad... really bad.

Pick # 12------> New England Patriots -5 vs Minnesota Vikings. Sunday October 31 2010 4:15 pm

Better coach, QB not hurt, no controversy, team concept, at home. A touchdown margin of victory isn't asking too much.

Pick # 13------> Indianapolis Colts -6 vs Houston Texans. Monday November 1 2010 8:30 pm

The Colts are coming off of a bye-week and will be seeking revenge for their week one loss against these same Texans who don't look so great anymore.
