It's bowl season again. Time to predict which teams will dominate under pressure and which teams will crumble. Time to handicap which teams care about their bowl game and which ones have mentally moved on. It's also time to guess how the long lay-off will affect the teams and their play on the field.

Rather than get bogged down in the minutia of the match-ups, it's time to make selections based not on what the lines tells us, but rather on what we already know. Before you ask "who will cover," ask yourself "who will win?"

Pick # 1------> Boise State -17 vs Utah; Wednesday December 22, 2010 8:05 pm

MAACO LAS VEGAS BOWL; Las Vegas, NV - Sam Boyd Stadium

Utah proved that they were frauds by getting destroyed by TCU earlier this year and then losing to Notre Dame. The only way this game is close is if Boise decides not to show up but I think that their coach will have the Broncos prepared and fired up.

Pick # 2------> Penn State +7 vs Florida; Sunday January 1, 2011 1:05 pm

OUTBACK BOWL; Tampa Bay, FL - Raymond James Stadium

Florida coah Urban Meyer will be on the sideline one last time but will his team be there only in spirit? It's possible given the situation. And Penn State started looking pretty good toward the end of the season. Seven is a large number and I'll take it in this match-up.

Pick # 3------> Wisconsin +2.5 vs TCU; Sunday January 1, 2011 5:05 pm

BCS ROSE BOWL; Pasadena, CA - Rose Bowl

I believe that Wisconsin can beat any team in football. Their coach is extremely confident and this confidence has spread throughout the entire team. TCU is good but have not played anyone. Last year, TCU got romped in their bowl game against Boise. Wisconsin dominates the line of scrimmage and this game.

Pick # 4------> Connecticut +17 vs Oklahoma; Monday January 1, 2011 8:35 pm

BCS FIESTA BOWL; Glendale, AZ - University of Phoenix Stadium

I've liked Connecticut for a while now and both times I've picked them, they've come through. And let's not forget that this team beat a decent South Carolina team in last year's bowl game as 7 point dogs. They have a big offensive line and a great running back in Todman. I believe that the Huskies will score enough points and hold the ball long enough to cover a large number.

Pick # 5------> Nevada -9.5 vs Boston College; Tuesday January 9, 2011 9:05 pm

KRAFT FIGHT HUNGER BOWL; San Fransisco, CA - AT&T Park

I don't see a Nevada let-down here as their dynamic senior QB Colin Kaepernick will look to end his career on a high note. I predict that their positive MOJO continues and they get the win and the cover.

Pick # 6------> Oregon +3 vs Auburn; Wednesday January 10, 2011 8:35 pm

BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME; Glendale, AZ - University of Phoenix Stadium

It is truly difficult to bet against someone like Cam Newton. But college games can be more about systems and teams than individuals. The Ducks' super-fast-paced offense is hard to defend and I see them wearing down Auburn as the game goes on. Plus, in such a high-profile game, it's rarely a bad idea to go with the dog.
